DISCOVERING BANGKOK

hi,
In this blog i'm going to give you some information about Bangkok as a tourist destination.
whit 7 milion of population this city is the capital of Thailand and it's consider the oriental venice, it's located in the center of the country stradding the banks of the Cha Phraya River and close to the Gulf of Thailand.
The standard Thai language is used while English is a mandatory subject in public schools and is widely spoken and understood in business and tourist areas.


CLIMATE
As the majority of the Asian continent, bangkok also meets affected by the monsoons, being it climate very varied. there are three different seasons: rainy(June-October), hot (March-May), and cool (November-February). the annual average temperature is about 29 degree Celsius


GETTING AROUND

To move around the city, we can choose between six differen kinds of transport,
  1. Bus: is the cheapest way of transportation but it may not be as a confortable in rush hour or the busy routes
  2. Taxi: is the most confortable way of transportation whith reasonable rates
  3. Tuk Tuk: they can ride you through alleys or main streets quickly even in rush hour. riding on the tuk tuk can be quite a thrill while it coast as much as a taxi.
  4. Boat: transports along the Chao Praya River and canals around the city. it's quite, cheap and faster than the land transportation usually taken by those who travel to places near the rivers or canals.
  5. Skytrain: conect the 5 corners of the city faster and cheap whithout intermediate stops
  6. Underground: the most convenient and fastest way of Bangkok transportation running in Bangkok urban area.

SIGHTSEEING
Bangkok has 5 important museums and there are differents between their. this museums are:
  1. National Museum Silpa Bhirasri Memorial: this museum was founden as a memorial to prof.Silpa Bhirasri who is known the "father of the modern art in Thailand"
  2. Royal Barges National Museum: as well as accessories and artifacts used in the past.
  3. National Gallery: include collection of modern art by famous thai artist both past and present and include works by both king Rama VI and his majesty the present king
  4. Jim Thompson House: is a house belong to the late James H.W. Thompson who came to Thailand as an officer in the US forces during World War II.
  5. National Museum of Bangkok: is the gallery of the thai nation.


Other places to see are the temples of the king, located in the five corners of the city. This temples are Wat Ratchabonit, Wat Ratchapradit, Wat Rachaorasam, Wat Arum and Wat Pho.
The differen markets and the Royal Palace are interesting too.

FOOD AND DRINK

It has a lot of kind of oriental and western food, since exotic animals which are part of a normal salad. The most popular food is Pod Thai Noodlese whith soy and eggs.

ENTERTAINMENT

Thai masage, River walk by boat and Muay Thai nights are the most popular activities for the tourist. Muay Thai is a Martial art born in Bangkok and consist in bit the oponent whith all parts of the body, people who see it apost for one of them to win moeny.
